I'm a lover of deep conversations and connecting more closely with people. Let's Close Gaps is a mobile card game inspired by We're Not Really Strangers that bridges emotional distance between players—whether they're friends, family, coworkers, romantic partners, or new acquaintances. Originally launched as Closing Gaps, the game has evolved into a relationship-building tool that helps users navigate varying levels of intimacy and communication comfort.
Built around thoughtful question prompts and challenges, the game provides a playful yet powerful space to explore shared values, uncover hidden stories, and strengthen trust.
Purpose
The core mission of Let's Close Gaps is to:

It is particularly useful in settings where emotional closeness is desired but may not happen organically—such as team retreats, new relationships, therapy-informed settings, or family gatherings.
How the Game Works
Each Let's Close Gaps deck is built around three progressive levels of emotional depth. Players take turns drawing cards, answering prompts, or completing challenges, guided by the emotional pacing of the levels.
Perception
Light icebreakers to explore how players see each other and the world.
Connection
More personal, introspective questions that foster empathy and understanding.
Reflection
Deep, vulnerable questions that open the door to transformation and truth-sharing.
In addition to questions, each level includes challenge/wildcard cards—interactive prompts like roleplay, real-time reflection, physical gestures, or bold asks that shift the dynamic and energize play. The structure makes it easy to go deeper without forcing discomfort.

Choose from curated decks designed for specific relationships: Friends, Coworkers, Romantic Partners, Family, or New Acquaintances. Each deck features questions and challenges tailored to that relationship dynamic.
Custom Avatars
Players can draw their own unique avatar image, adding a personal and creative touch to their game experience.
Easy Room Access
Join game sessions via room code or QR code scan, making it simple to connect with others whether you're in person or remote.
Remote Play with Live Chat
Play from anywhere with a built-in live chat system. The current card displays in the chat, players can answer together, and all questions and responses are preserved in the chat history for easy reference.

For select users, Let's Close Gaps includes an AI-powered custom deck generator that creates personalized card decks based on specific themes or contexts. Users input a prompt describing the type of deck they want, and the system generates a complete deck with questions tailored to their needs.

This feature is restricted to admin users due to API costs, but enables the creation of highly specialized decks for unique situations, therapeutic contexts, or professional workshops. Generated decks appear seamlessly within the app alongside the standard decks.
